The 49ers game isn't until Sunday, but in the meantime, I hope everyone's enjoying the spectacle that is the Republican primary in South Carolina. First off, we have John King asking His Newtness about allegations that he wanted an "open marriage" and setting off a classic Newtron bomb. Then we have all the discussion on CNN about Mitt Romney's (allegedly) huge penis. And of course, the SuperPac ads accusing Romney of being a serial killer ("Mitt the Ripper.") Oh, and by the way: Did anybody actually win the Iowa Caucuses? Does anybody actually care?

Party on, Repubs. You're doing better every day.

In a more perfect world Newt asking for an open marriage should result in laughs from the wife. "Sure Newt, if you can find anyone else dumb enough to fuck you, feel free, don't forget to bring your wallet."

Please,,,Quit Slagging Our Beloved Iowa Caucuses

Be reminded,,we have caucuses here, not a state sanctioned, winner take all primary. The caucuses are only just the begining of our process of selecting delegates. We haven't even went to our respective county conventions yet. No candidate has actually won anything at all. Caucus night results have only symbolic meaning at best. Only significant percentage differences between candidate choices can be translated in to anything meaningful at all. A few miscounts amounting to no more than a dozen or two voters is insignificant. Caucus night is not now nor ever has been a precise science,,,and one can even argue it does not need to be.

The true value of the Iowa Caucuses is in the lead up to Caucus night. We get to meet the candidates close up, ask them pointed questions and look them in the eye. This is impossible any place else but New Hampshire. Instead of harping on all the inumerable polls and surveys preliminary to the caucuses, the press should help you folk be vicarious Iowans and go beyond, beneath and behind all the doctored up spin,,just like we're able to do.

Caucus night results here mean little,,,it's the drawn out process going months or even years before that's more important.

Let me rephrase

The caucus vote means nothing; the delegates who actually decide who gets to be president are chosen later in some other complex and undemocratic process, by even fewer people. So because it's a fake election anyway, what's a few miscounts and irregularities among friends? The important part is that you get to bask in the glory of the candidates for a few months and you don't want anyone to take that away from you.

Glad you cleared that up.

Bullflop!

The delegates for each candidate just progress from one convention to the next,,provided their candidate doesn't drop out. Those delegates that go to county choose from their own ranks who go to district,,and so on. I've made it to district with the Dems once myself. Very open, honest and fair proces. I know from being there. Unless you have, you don't know,,in which case you can shut the hell up.

Newt's days of attracting women half his age are over. He is officially in the GOF club - the Grand old Fart club. And the politically correct aren't saying this in public but the true Christian conservatives are grasping for an alternative to Mr. Romney because he is a Mormon. Mormonism is a form of heresy, and a heretic is worse than an infidel. Plus with everything going on in the world does anyone really want an investment banker running the government? You might as well vote for Jamie Dimon or Lloyd Blankfien for President
