I would not be surprised if there would be more dogs rather than kids, because people might be too busy to get married, or let alone find someone to be in a relationship and start a family. Though having a child is not comparable to having a dog, but I would understand why people prefer dogs – dogs require lesser time devoted to them, lesser expenses, and the like. I have a dog and I only have to buy him dog food, fancy collars and leashes, and other puppy supplies. Though he likes a lot of attention, but I think the time I devote to him is nothing compared to rearing a child.
